That this community and beyond might be eternally different
because we are here, transforming one life at a time.
To Glorify God
The Church exists to glorify God. Every member of the Church is responsible to work to that end (Phil 1:20; John 15:8; Col. 3:17; Eph. 3:21). We glorify Him by worshiping in spirit and in truth with the goal of connecting with God and helping others to do the same; by faithfully proclaiming His gospel in a manner that exalts the name of Jesus; and, by devoting ourselves to the fellowship of the Church through relationship with our fellow members rooted in our common relationship with God through Jesus Christ. (John 4:24; 1 Peter 4:11; Romans 10:14; Acts 2:42; 1 Cor. 12:13, 27)
The Church exists to promote spiritual growth among the membership. Ephesians 4:11-16 teaches that Christ desires believers to be equipped by the Church leadership “for the work of ministry for the building up of the body of Christ until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, . . . .”
The Church shall strive to foster ongoing growth in the personal faith of its members. To that end, the Church will endeavor to “make disciples” of its members, in obedience to the Great Commission of our Lord (Matthew 28:18-20). The goal is a regenerate membership committed to spiritual maturity.
The Church will seek to help each member identify their spiritual gifts and equip them to serve in the ministries of the Church. The Church recognizes that growth in service for individual members is critical to the overall health and well-being of the body. “Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow
so that it builds itself up in love” (Eph. 4:15-16)
The Church will seek to reach out to non-believers, with the goal of leading them to
faith in Christ and membership in the body. (Acts 2:46-47)
To Be Holy
The Church exists as the bride of Christ. Ephesians 5:26-27 says Christ gave Himself for the Church, “so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.” As His bride, the Church is to be holy, therefore, the expectation for every member is that they will strive to live a holy life. The Church will encourage its members to live a life of conformity to the moral teachings of the Bible, and
in contrast to the ways of the world. (Eph. 4:22,24)
